It rumbled from deep within his chest, but it made your heart race regardless of how low his chuckle was. “So what if I did,” you mumbled, averting your gaze from the vampire.
“Your mouth says one thing, but your heart says another,” Benny said lowly. There was almost no space at all between his body, and yours. You didn’t think it could beat any faster.īenny pushed off of his truck and stood closer to you. “That I like you or something? Don’t flatter yourself.” The heat in your cheeks was overwhelming, along with the beat of your heart. “What are you implying,” you questioned, stepping closer to Benny. “Why is your heart beating so fast? Did ya just run a mile? Then again, ya’d probably smell if ya did. He usually doesn’t let me go near anything dangerous. “I’ve even killed a few, but you know how protective Dean is. “Of course I’ve seen a vampire before,” you murmured, letting out small huff. “Ya have a hell of a heartbeat ,” Benny mused. You were thankful that it was nighttime and that he couldn’t see how red your face was.īenny leaned his back against his truck as he looked over at you. You could feel the heat rush into your cheeks. “Is there something you find funny,” you asked, crossing your arms over your chest. You turned to face him and furrowed your eyebrows together. When Dean got into his car and drove away, you could hear Benny chuckle. “I get it,” you nodded, waving Dean away. More than one person can make this kind of thing suspicious.” “I’ll make this as quick as I can,” Dean assured the Cajun vampire. “Nice to meet ya, I’m Benny.” Benny shook your hand, noticing the quick, but short, jump in your heart rate. “Not at all,” Benny smiled, nodding his head at you. “I hope you don’t mind if she stays here while I get you some blood.” He took the cooler from Benny and gestured his head at you. “Oh yeah, this is my little sister ,” Dean introduced you. “S’alright,” Benny said calmly as he reached into the back of his truck. “I forgot that I needed your little cooler for the blood.” “Sorry Benny,” Dean apologized as he closed his door. The moonlight hit him just right as if he was the answer to all your problems. It felt like your heart was going to burst out of your chest.
